  • KIPP Capital Region

    Problem:

    Students within the school community needed accessible, judgment-free financial education that addressed everyday money decisions, family financial responsibilities, and the pressure of balancing personal needs with expectations to support others.

    Impact:

    Participants gained practical budgeting skills, increased awareness of spending behaviors, and greater confidence in setting financial boundaries. The sessions helped participants understand how mindset influences financial choices and supported the development of habits that promote long-term financial stability and intentional money management.

  • Capital Region Affordable Housing Partnership

    Problem:

    Individuals and families preparing for major financial decisions needed accessible, culturally relevant financial education to build strong money foundations. Many lacked clarity around budgeting, saving, and long-term financial planning required to remain financially stable before and after large purchases such as homeownership.

    Impact:

    Within one year, 133 families participated in the workshops. Two households successfully achieved homeownership, while many others reported increased financial clarity, confidence, and preparedness for major financial decisions. The program continues to support long-term financial stability and contributes to broader efforts to reduce the racial wealth gap

  • Albany Black Chamber of Commerce

    Problem:

    Small business owners needed more confidence with managing personal finances while growing their businesses, often feeling financially stretched and unsupported.

    Impact:

    The financial wellness workshop provided actionable steps for organizing personal budgets, reducing debt, and aligning spending with values. Attendees left with renewed motivation and practical tools to support their business and personal goals.

  • Community Loan Fund of the Capital Region

    Problem:

    Aspiring entrepreneurs and community members lacked foundational money management and financial planning skills needed to qualify for funding and maintain business stability.

    Impact:

    Participants developed clear debt payoff strategies, savings plans, and cash flow systems with their personal finances. Many reported feeling more prepared to manage personal finances, pursue entrepreneurship, and managing their money with confidence.
